Step Into a Day in the Field
Sun up in PA, service tickets in your queue, and a trusted service van stocked with the parts and tools you chose for the day. You start by performing preventive maintenance on an access control panel—inspect, adjust, clean, and calibrate—then head across town to diagnose a camera network, restore it to full operation, and coach the customer on simple features before you leave. Between stops, you share a promising upgrade lead with sales, update documentation, and keep your supervisor briefed on system status and any equipment you recommend replacing. The phone rings: it’s your turn in the emergency on‑call rotation later this week. You’re ready.

The RoleWe’re hiring an experienced Security Service Technician in PA to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install electronic security systems—all while delivering excellent customer service and upholding strict safety standards.
What You’ll Handle- Build strong customer relationships through clear communication, professionalism, and timely field service.
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on security systems and devices (inspection, adjustment, cleaning, and calibration).
- Complete maintenance that reduces emergencies and drives zero callbacks.
- Participate in an emergency on‑call rotation.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and return systems to full functionality; recommend design or configuration revisions when appropriate.
- Alert your supervisor when systems require deeper analysis or replacement.
- Provide technical input to support sales during surveys or inspections.
- Identify and pass along sales opportunities encountered while servicing.
- Deliver basic end‑user training on simple systems.
- Nurture customer relationships that support contract retention.
- Keep your supervisor informed on customer needs, system conditions, and emerging issues.
- Maintain accurate company documentation and practice responsible inventory use.
- Stay current on new products and technology; attend required training programs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years programming security systems such as Andover Controls, Schneider Electric, Lenel, DSX, Pelco, Bosch, Avigilon, and Ademco.
- 2+ years installing security systems.
- 2+ years as an Electrician.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Computer proficiency; IT/networking experience is a plus.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer‑service abilities.
- Adaptable, flexible, and resilient in changing conditions.
- Excellent time management and organizational habits.
- Self‑starter with proven troubleshooting strengths.
- Willing to travel regionally to jobsites as needed.
- Schedule: approximately 40 hours per week, typical 8–10 hour shifts.
- Standing/climbing: about 4–6 hours per day.
- Kneeling, lifting, reaching, bending: roughly 4–5 hours per day.
- Twisting/walking: about 2–3 hours per day.
- Squatting/sitting: about 1–2 hours per day.
- Lifting: continuous 10–35 lbs.; frequent 35–50 lbs.; occasional 50–75 lbs.
- Carrying: average 60 lbs. for 40 feet.
- Frequent hand use (grasping, push/pull, fine motor coordination).
- Frequent foot use (equipment operation, climbing).
- Vision adequate for blueprint reading and wire identification.
- Balance to climb ladders, scaffolds, and lifts on a continuous basis.
- Work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes from 0°ree;F to 100°ree;F.
- Exposure to dust, gases, fumes, and odors within safe limits.
- Potential exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards.
- Required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, protective‑toe boots, and gloves; additional PPE as needed (fall protection, respirator, hearing protection, arc flash gear, insulated gloves/sleeves).
