Role Description The Conference Services Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at PUBLIC in New York. This role oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of all conference, meeting, and event services from signed contract through post-event follow-up. Daily responsibilities include managing client communications, preparing detailed event orders, coordinating room setups, audio-visual needs, and catering requirements, and ensuring all departments are aligned on event specifications. The Conference Services Manager partners closely with sales, operations, culinary, and front-of-house teams to deliver seamless events that reflect PUBLIC’s service and style standards. The role also involves managing timelines, resolving issues during events, and continuously seeking ways to enhance the guest and client experience. Qualifications Experience in conference, event, or banquet management within hospitality or a related field, ideally in a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment. Strong client relationship and account management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proven organizational and project management abilities, including managing multiple events simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail. Ability to work on-site with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event activity. Proficiency in standard office and hospitality software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Delphi, Opera and or Stay N Touch property management systems); familiarity with audiovisual and conferencing technologies is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and a calm, professional presence when handling last-minute changes or challenging situations.
