Cytogenetic Technologist IV

Job description:

• Perform Chromosome analysis and case review on all sample types - bone marrow, blood, prenatal, and tissues.
• Perform Case Review and Case Analysis at the highest productivity level with 100% accuracy.
• Perform wet lab duties including sample set up, harvest, slide dropping, and banding. Tech will perform other wet lab duties as needed.
• Suggest and implement process improvements and contribute to protocol development.
• Demonstrate successful collaboration with others.
• Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance and oversee the activities of lower-level personnel.
• Assist in trouble shooting issues in the wet lab.
• Perform other duties as required including wet lab protocols.

Education:

• Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology or related field.

Experience:

• 6+ years of experience as a Cytogenetic Technologist

Certification/Licenses/Registration:

• Required:
  • Certification/registration as a Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or certification as a Clinical Lab Specialist in Cytogenetics (NCA).
