Peer Specialist - Mobile Crisis Intervention - Weekends *Internal Candidates Only*

Peer Specialists help make Mobile Crisis Intervention Services welcoming, comfortable, supportive, and responsive to individuals who use the services and their families. Location: Norwood, MA Job ID: 12133-709 Position: Part‑time (16 hours per week, Saturday–Sunday) Pay Rate: $22.27 per hour, plus $1 per hour with CPS and $2 per hour with CARC Responsibilities Using personal experience and knowledge of the care system, Peer Specialists provide consumer support, information, and assistance in connecting with and obtaining community‑based resources and services. Convey hope and provide psychoeducation on recovery, rehabilitation, and crisis self‑management. Assist in arranging services to which the individual is referred after the Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) intervention, working with the person and family to support them during the transition to follow‑up services. Provide similar services in MCI and Adult CCS as staffing and time permit. Receive training in recovery‑focused peer support for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and assist in interventions with individuals/families presenting in crisis due to SUD. Support explanation of the process to access services, availability of self‑help resources, and provide follow‑up for those who may or may not be ready to accept help at the time of initial contact. Required Skills Excellent communication and organizational skills. Basic computer fluency, including Microsoft Office. Certified Peer Specialist or obtain certification within 6 months–1 year of hire. Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and reliable vehicle. Required Experience High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Human Services or a related field preferred. Certification as a Peer Specialist preferred; must immediately begin and diligently work toward certification if hired without certification. Experience as consumer of services or family member of a consumer preferred. One year experience working with target population required; experience as a consumer or family member also required.
