Human Resources Assistant

This position will assist in multiple facets of human resources (recruitment, onboarding/offboarding employees, employee development, benefit administration, leave management and compliance) supporting the entire employee life cycle, fostering positive employee relations and company culture.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manages employment status updates and understands payroll procedures
2. Assists with employee benefits while ensuring accuracy of benefit payroll deductions and benefit carrier invoices
3. Works closely with payroll department in employee records and management
4. Maintains accurate employee records within the HRIS system
5. Assembles and analyzes employee statistics
6. Manages the worker compensation claims, records and holds the role of Safety Committees Chair
7. Organizes and maintains employee records, benefit information, COBRA records, and OSHA records
8. Assists in orienting new employees
9. Assists with facilitation of employee relations
10. Assist in recruiting, reviews, resumes, selects qualified candidates, and conducts phone interviews with candidates
11. Assists with employee recognition events
12. Manages FMLA, PFML and personal leaves of absence ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations
13. Manages annual benefit enrollment, track eligibility and enrollment for all employees
14. Contribute to HR initiatives that improve internal processes and policies
15. Operates with a high level of discretion, integrity and professionalism when managing sensitive information
16. Works harmoniously with and shows respect for employees, supervisors, vendors and clients
17. Performs other duties as assigned

Desirable Qualifications:

• Minimum of associate's degree or equivalent experience (strongly preferred) or currently enrolled in related field
• 2-5 years of human resources prior experience including onboarding, employee engagement, and employee relations
• High attention to detail
• Proficient computer use, working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
• Working knowledge of HRIS systems and payroll platforms such as ADP (preferred)
• Strong communications, organizational, and people skills

Required Qualifications:

• Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain "qualified" status
• Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office Of Inspector General
• Must be able to successfully meet company's physical job demands
• If using own vehicle for company business, must have a current valid driver's license and must have insurance as required by state law.
