We are seeking a Library Technician to support our Virtual Technical Library (VTL) of the Military Sealift Command (MSC).
Job Description:
- Responsible for day-to-day operation of the technical library including but not limited to
- Managing the utilization of available library space including rearrangement and redistribution of documents as advised by the Library Supervisor.
- Maintaining technical data spaces.
- Data Entry
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Customer Service
- Receive, Log and file new or revised documents and identify and purge obsolete documents.
- Maintain the library’s NavSea and Manufacturer’s literature.
- Maintain Virtual Technical Library (VTL).
- Distribute technical documents as requested.
- Order and maintain all supplies for the Library.
- Distribute technical documents as requested including but not limited to:
- Pick-up and delivery technical documentation to government facilities within 45 miles.
- Travel to ships within the US and Outside US if needed by MSC COR/TPOC/Library Supervisor.
- Go onboard ships, shipyards, contractor’s facilities, and military bases to pick-up and deliver technical documentation.
Job Requirement:
Active Security Clearance Required
High School diploma or GED.
BA/BS preferred
3 to 6 months prior clerical, customer service or library experience.
Ability to go aboard ship for inventory/scanning projects.
Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Adobe Acrobat installing bookmarks in manuals.
Travel within or outside the US
