District Manager

FlexTek is partnering with a leading environmental services organization to identify an experienced District Manager to lead a large, complex operation in the Miami, Florida market. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an operational leader who thrives in fast-paced, route-based environments and knows how to build strong teams, improve retention, and drive operational performance. The District Manager will oversee an operation that includes multiple service lines and requires a leader who can effectively manage through other leaders while maintaining a strong understanding of day-to-day field operations. Full relocation package is offered for out of area candidates. Key Responsibilities Lead the overall performance of a large, multi-line, route-based operation. Provide leadership and direction to a team of functional and operational leaders. Build a stable, accountable, and engaged leadership team while improving employee retention. Develop a strong understanding of routes, customers, equipment, staffing, safety, and operational challenges. Establish clear expectations and accountability across the organization. Partner closely with sales, fleet, safety, finance, and route strategy teams to support overall district performance. Build credibility with employees by being visible, approachable, and engaged in the operation. Evaluate opportunities for operational improvement while balancing immediate needs with long-term objectives. Collaborate with nearby operations to effectively utilize shared resources and support. Lead with energy and influence while clearly connecting day-to-day decisions to broader organizational goals. What We’re Looking For Proven district leadership experience within waste management and environmental services in particular extensive hauling operations expertise. Experience leading a sizable collection or field operation with significant route volume and multiple direct reports. Demonstrated career stability and progressive leadership responsibility. Ability to effectively lead managers and develop strong leadership teams. Track record of building employee engagement, accountability, and retention. Energetic, influential leadership style with the ability to establish credibility across all levels of an organization. Strong operational judgment with the discipline to understand an organization before implementing significant changes. Ability to balance strategic leadership with a strong understanding of field-level operations. Bilingual Spanish is a significant plus but is not required.
