Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Neurology & Neurosurgery)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (4x12-Hour Shifts, 19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week | 13 or 26 week contract options available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity unit encompassing Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown levels of care within a 48-bed Neurology and Neurosurgery unit
• Care for a specialized patient population including strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions, including patients requiring long-term EEG monitoring
• Manage patient ratios of 1:5–1:6 on Med Surg/Telemetry and 1:3–1:4 on Stepdown, with flexibility to accommodate staffing needs
• Administer and monitor IV drips as required across all floors
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility staffing needs across multiple units and campuses as directed

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records charting
• Experience administering and managing IV drips
• Ability and willingness to float frequently to various units to meet facility staffing needs
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (may be considered in lieu of standard first-timer restrictions)
• Background in Neurology, Neurosurgery, or a related specialty
• Familiarity with long-term EEG monitoring environments
