The Internal Communications Manager works across the university to increase awareness, understanding, and connection to the university leadership among members of the university community, fostering an internal culture of transparency and shared understanding.The ICM will design communication plans to effectively communicate university messaging around strategic initiatives. The ICM will coordinate with university leadership, especially in university services, to ensure accurate and timely communications of university positions to internal and external audiences. To do this, the ICM will take the lead in drafting communications in the voice of university leaders to students, faculty, staff, and the Georgetown community.Additionally, the ICM acts as a central resource for sharing best practices about newsletter distribution and event promotion, actively supporting nearly 200 events + communications professionals across the University.**Work Interactions**The Internal Communications Manager works as a Deputy to the Director of Internal Communications and Operations Communications within the Office of Strategic Communications to effectively communicate and protect the university brand and position. Through strategic planning and collaboration, the ICM contributes to the university’s communications strategies by generating increased visibility and awareness of the university's objectives, goals and positions.The ICM will have a key role in internal communications for senior leaders of the university and for departments within university services, specifically Finance, Auxiliary Services, Facilities and Student Affairs on strategic communications to the university community.**Requirements and Qualifications**Bachelor's degree in communications or related field of study; at least three to four years of experience in public relations, journalism, broadcasting, higher education, non-profit institution or related area; excellent written and oral communications skills, good judgment, ability to work on deadline, demonstrated interpersonal skills, flexibility, willingness to work evenings and weekends, and ability to exercise diplomacy and manage a high-volume of communication initiative at the same time, meeting tight deadlines and working under pressure and with an eye for detail.**Pay Range:**The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:$47,586.00 - $87,558.13Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.**Current Georgetown Employees:**If you currently work at Georgetown University, please exit this website and login to GMS () using your Net ID and password.
