Job Title: Mechanical Assembler Job Description
This role focuses on assembling and testing production units, motors, sub-assemblies, and a variety of mechanical products in a structured, team-based environment. You work in small assembly cells where you rotate through different tasks, use hand, air, and power tools, follow visual drawings and illustrations, and ensure that every product meets quality standards before speed becomes a priority. The position involves handling oily components and lifting parts weighing up to 50 pounds while maintaining safety, quality, and cleanliness in the work area.
Responsibilities- Follow all established safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
- Perform routine production tasks such as forming, assembling, and packaging mechanical products under the direction of a lead.
- Complete repetitive assembly operations by following a defined sequence of work steps.
- Work from verbal instructions, bills of material, and basic drawings or illustrations to assemble products correctly.
- Use various tools and equipment including hand tools, air tools, power tools, and assembly and test equipment to complete tasks.
- Make simple, direct readings of quality checks on parts and assemblies and promptly report any unusual conditions to supervision.
- Monitor work visually throughout the assembly process and maintain required quality charts and documentation.
- Follow all quality procedures and instructions to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
- Move materials and position work using electric or hand trucks as needed.
- Maintain housekeeping and keep the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Adhere to attendance expectations to support efficient department operations.
- Perform other related duties as directed by management to support production and departmental goals.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and testing devices safely and effectively.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical assemblies and components.
- Ability to read and follow verbal instructions, bills of material, and simple drawings or illustrations.
- Attention to detail with the ability to perform quality checks and recognize unusual conditions.
- Capability to complete repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
- Physical ability to lift and move components weighing between 25 and 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for 8 to 12 hours during a shift.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality to support continuous production operations.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Six months or more of related manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience preferred, but training is available for candidates without experience.
- Comfort working with oily parts and in a general manufacturing environment.
- Experience using measuring tools and following blueprints is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively in a cell-based team of 3 to 8 people and rotate through different assembly tasks.
- Willingness to learn new processes and cross-train in various assembly operations.
- Basic understanding of quality documentation such as maintaining charts and records.

Work EnvironmentThis is a first-shift position with typical hours from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional work until 3:30 p.m. as needed. The facilities are climate-controlled, well lit, and organized, providing a comfortable and safe manufacturing environment. The operation includes general manufacturing with numerous CNC milling machines and structured assembly cells. The main building has a stable workforce on both day and second shifts, and the west building operates with smaller but consistent teams on each shift. The work involves handling mechanical components that may be oily and requires standing for most of the shift and lifting up to 50 pounds. Standard manufacturing attire appropriate for working around machinery and tools is expected.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
