Assistant Program Manager

Assistant Program Manager / Communications Office / Onsite / Garden City, NY


Our client is seeking to add an Assistant Program Manager to their Communications Office based out of Garden City, NY. This is a long-term, onsite position with work hours averaging 35 hours per week. The role offers job security, exposure to new technologies, and the potential for permanent conversion with great benefits and school pension. If converted, residency in Nassau County and passing the Nassau County Civil Service exam would be required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strategy for web presence
• Coordination to improve content, user experience, accessibility, and consistency across web pages
• Strategic direction, planning support, and cross-department coordination for agency website
• Social media strategy: content planning, posting, monitoring
• Storytelling, consistent messaging (ideally across schools and education programs)
• Lead role in advertising: campaign content, timelines, digital placements, related materials
• Support program enrollment, public awareness, consumer engagement
• Responsible for electronic promotional emails
• Ability to stay calm/poised; respond in off-hours for emergency communications/events
• Excellent communication skills, professional acumen, customer service, detail-oriented
• Need a car

Desired Skills & Experience

• Any/all of above experience in an education environment (ideally schools and/or education programs)

What You Will Be Doing

• Guide overall website strategy, coordinate with liaisons, identify opportunities to improve content, user experience, accessibility, consistency
• Provide strategic direction, planning, cross-department coordination for the agency's website
• Support webmaster's daily tasks
• Develop and execute social media strategy; coordinate with liaisons
• Support stronger storytelling, consistent messaging, alignment across agency programs and schools
• Lead advertising efforts: campaign content/timelines/digital placements/communication materials
• Responsible for electronic promotional emails (including professional development offerings)
• Provide as-needed support for emergency communications/events

Daily Responsibilities
