The position will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to achieve significant market share for Geosyntec in the Water for the Food and Beverage market area, work with leading experts, and support business growth associated with complex drinking water and industrial wastewater projects across the country. It will also position and expand capabilities for delivering full-service projects. You will be responsible for developing a market strategy for the water for the food and beverage market, organizing and leading staff to advance that strategy, supporting market development in other sectors, and serving as project director for large and/or high risk projects. As a Senior Principal, you will also be expected to take on staff leadership and mentoring roles. Strategic business planning to segment and target specific industrial, commercial, and municipal clients for projects such as water supply, water treatment, and water re-use; focused on the food and beverage market. Engagement with project and operations staff to align Geosyntec's full-service delivery capabilities with the market demands of the food and beverage industry. Participation in the development and implementation of the firm's strategic plan and inter-departmental and inter-branch initiatives that positively impact the company. Implementation of a personal business development plan to expand services and revenue with new and existing clients. Serve as a Client Account Manager on selected accounts deemed critical to the water market. Active participation in professional societies, conferences, and meetings to increase the firm's visibility to potential clients and recruits, and contribute to the profession. Project directorship, ensuring client expectations are understood and met, budgets are adhered to, quality objectives are met, and follow-on work is attained. Recruiting, managing, and mentoring junior staff and mid-career engineers and scientists. Reviewing and leading the preparation of major proposals. Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties. Occasional fieldwork, including contractor oversight and process troubleshooting tasks. Providing professional development opportunities such as technical conferences, in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring. Fieldwork: sporadic. Overnight travel: up to 30%. Use of personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or project sites as needed. Education and Licensure Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred). (required) Advanced degree (same as above). (preferred) Professional registration (i.e., P.E.). (required) Skills, Experience and Qualifications At least 15 years of progressive experience in the consulting industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) Demonstrated experience with industrial and municipal clients on water supply, water treatment, and water re-use projects. (required) Demonstrated working knowledge of Federal and State regulations. (required) Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams. (required) Demonstrated success in developing and managing clients and growing a practice that sustains junior staff. (required) Excellent leadership and detail-oriented skills. (required) Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required) Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required) Field work and overnight travel may be required. Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred) Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required. Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) Compensation This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Compensation ranges are provided for the specified locations. Minimum Salary: $180,995/year / Maximum Salary: $271,495/year (Oakland & Los Angeles, CA, Acton, MA) Minimum Salary: $157,385/year / Maximum Salary: $236,080/year (Syracuse, NY) Minimum Salary: $165,255/year / Maximum Salary: $247,885/year (Chicago, IL) Minimum Salary: $173,125/year / Maximum Salary: $259,690/year (Washington DC, Seattle, WA) Benefits We offer a comprehensive benefits package to all eligible employees, including 9 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, a minimum of 8 sick days, and a minimum of 11 vacation days per year, in line with state or federal requirements.
