Fabricator
Shift: 1st, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM (Monday Friday) Pay: $25 $28/hour (Based on Experience)
Position Overview: We are hiring an experienced Fabricator for a family-owned fabrication shop that builds custom structural steel components for a wide range of industries. This is a hands-on role requiring strong welding, fabrication, and blueprint reading skills. Candidates must be comfortable taking a project from raw material to finished product.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble structural metal products using MIG and TIG welding
- Perform tacking, framing, and full assembly of custom builds
- Operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, shears, and plasma cutters
- Square up raw steel material and build parts from blueprints, routings, and layout sheets
- Conduct in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are met
- Follow preventative maintenance procedures and report equipment issues
- Accurately complete labor and time tracking reports
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with material handling and other shop duties as needed
- Contribute to continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and safety
Qualifications
- 5+ years of fabrication/welding experience in a job shop or similar environment preferred
- Strong experience with MIG & TIG welding (structural steel and some aluminum)
- Ability to work with material thicknesses ranging from 1/8" to 1/2" (primarily 1/4")
- Proven ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with press brakes, shears, and plasma cutting equipment
- Ability to accurately measure, square, and build from raw materials
- Fitting experience is a strong plus
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced shop environment
- Must have your own welding equipment
