Lab Manager I

Labcorp seeks a Laboratory Manager to oversee hematology operations in Tampa, Florida. The role involves directing daily activities, managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining service quality standards in a clinical laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily operational activities for hematology department, including technical and non-technical operations
- Manage departmental staffing, production schedules, and overtime to ensure adequate coverage
- Supervise, train, and mentor supervisors and all departmental staff
- Ensure laboratory compliance with corporate, state, and federal regulatory requirements
- Resolve client inquiries and operational issues in coordination with leadership and quality assurance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 5+ years clinical laboratory testing experience
- Hematology Supervisor Florida State Licensure
- 1+ year supervising or leading a team
- Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and relevant state regulations
- Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
