Safety Specialist

Job Summary The Safety Specialist supports the organization’s health and safety efforts by identifying hazards, conducting inspections, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a safe work environment. This role works closely with management and employees to prevent accidents, reduce workplace risks, and maintain safety standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures Lead safety training sessions and educate employees on best practices Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Maintain safety records, logs, and compliance documentation Assist in emergency preparedness planning and response drills Collaborate with supervisors and departments to improve safety culture Track safety performance metrics and suggest improvements Monthly collection of storm water and reporting to plan Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or related field preferred Previous experience in workplace safety, risk management, or compliance Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations Strong investigation, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and training abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems Skills Attention to detail Risk assessment and hazard recognition Report writing and documentation Training and presentation skills Teamwork and collaboration Time management and organization Work Environment May work in offices, warehouses, manufacturing plants, or field environments Requires walking plant sites, conducting inspections, and occasionally lifting safety equipment Require use of PPE in the workplace #J-18808-Ljbffr
