Our client is seeking a hands-on Tool & Fixture Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role is critical to maintaining operational continuity and ensuring seamless execution as they introduce complex new production lines to their CNC machines. The ideal candidate is not just a desktop designer, but a practical implementer who can bridge the gap between virtual CAD models and physical production. You must possess a robust mechanical background, expert-level CAD proficiency, and a proven track record of taking complex tooling concepts through physical fabrication, GD&T validation, and shop-floor debugging.

responsibilities:

• Utilize CAD to develop, update, and validate trim tools and production fixtures for CNC operations.

• Create trim tools and CNC fixtures to get new production lines running.

• Take complex tooling concepts from initial CAD design through fabrication, assembly, and physical shop-floor debugging.

• Update SOPs and setup instructions to keep quality consistent.

• Manage tool orders with outside vendors to ensure on-time delivery.

• Provide hands-on help across the shop floor to keep operations moving.

• Provide technical assistance across various machines and systems to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Must have hands-on tool design and tool implementation experience.

• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.

• Must have strong proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

• Proven track record of taking complex CAD concepts and physically executing/validating them in a production environment (we are looking for an implementer, not just a designer).

• Must have high-level CAD proficiency (Catia V5 or CENIT preferred).

Shift:

• 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:30 am - 3:30 pm
