Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical RN will provide comprehensive care to adult patients in a fast-paced hospital setting, managing multiple complex cases with a focus on gastrointestinal diagnoses. This role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality nursing services during night shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Administer patient care following established medical and nursing protocols, including GI, Bariatric, and Autologous Islet Cell Transplant programs.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient status accurately and timely using EPIC charting system.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations, including trauma and complex medical cases.
• Adhere to safety regulations and infection control standards, including proper use of scrubs and PPE.
• Participate in team-based nursing models to ensure efficient workflow and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license.
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience, preferably in a hospital environment.
• BLS certification is required; additional GI or critical care certifications are a plus.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm to 7:30 am).
• Willingness to float within scope and work in a fast-paced, trauma center environment.
