Dermatology Registered Nurse (RN) - Mohs Surgery, per diem

Job Overview The Registered Nurse will assist the Mohs Surgery Team with preoperative preparation, intraoperative assistance, histology processing, patient education and support, documentation, and follow‑up care. Responsibilities Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on assessment to optimize outcomes and resources. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Evaluate the learning needs of patients and/or families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Takes calls from patients or caregivers requesting assistance; provides advice, referrals, and education. For symptomatic patients, determine the necessity and type of care needed and advise the caller accordingly. Perform administrative duties to coordinate patient care, including data collection, answering phones, scheduling tests, procedures, and appointments, calling in prescriptions, determining insurance coverage, billing, and receiving payments. Qualifications Active Maine RN license or ability to obtain in a timely fashion (required). At least 1 year of acute or med/surg (or equivalent) nursing experience (preferred). Previous experience with in‑office surgical or operating room procedures strongly preferred. Schedule & Employment Monday – Thursday schedule, per diem. Scheduled weekly hours: 0.
