Job Description

This role supports a busy distribution operation that manufactures automotive parts by performing shipping, receiving, inventory, and order fulfillment activities on 1st shift. You will handle materials, prepare shipments, use RF scanners and rolling stairs to pick orders, and collaborate closely with warehouse supervisors to ensure accurate and timely processing of automotive products.

Responsibilities

• Receive, restock, and organize inventory, including dispatch and overstock materials.
• Load and unload materials from trucks safely and efficiently.
• Break down boxes and package items securely for shipment.
• Use rolling stairs, order pickers, and RF scanners to accurately pick and fulfill orders for the automotive industry.
• Package items for shipment, ensuring correct labeling and documentation.
• Assist warehouse supervisors with daily operational tasks as needed.
• Pick orders that require climbing rolling safety ladders ranging from approximately 7 to 15 steps.
• Move, lift, and handle materials throughout the warehouse as part of shipping and receiving activities.
• Work productively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Operate as a self-motivated individual, managing tasks independently while contributing to overall team goals.

Essential Skills

• Warehouse experience in shipping, receiving, inventory, or order pulling.
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds.
• Comfort using rolling safety ladders with approximately 5–7 steps and, when needed, a ladder up to about 15 feet for shipping tasks.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English to follow instructions, complete documentation, and use RF scanners.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods.
• Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or squat to access materials and perform warehouse duties.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and maintaining productivity under time constraints.
• Self-motivated work style with the ability to work individually and stay on task without constant supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment, especially in the automotive industry, is beneficial.
• Experience with RF scanners for order picking and inventory management.
• Experience in forklift operations is a plus; forklift training is available upon becoming a direct hire.
• Experience as a shipping clerk, warehouse worker, inventory clerk, or order puller.
• Ability to follow safety procedures when working around forklifts and other warehouse machinery.

Work Environment

This position is based in a busy warehouse facility where automotive parts are stored, picked, and shipped. The noise level is typically high due to forklifts and other machines operating throughout the building. The role follows a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and involves frequent use of stairs and RF scanners. Work is physically active, requiring regular movement across the facility and adherence to safety protocols around material handling equipment. The dress code is casual but safety-focused: plain shirts, jeans without holes, and closed-toe shoes, with no logos related to beer or alcohol.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brea, CA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
