Intake SpecialistJoin McAlister Institute, a 49-year beacon in San Diego's Recovery Community.The Intake Specialist is a critical first point of contact for clients entering services at all of our programs. Reporting directly to the Program Manager, this position provides intake coordination, administrative support, and ensures clients are guided into the appropriate level of care. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, compassionate, and knowledgeable about substance use services.Benefits for YOU:13 paid annual holidays, including your birthday; 12 paid vacation days, paid sick leavePublic Service Loan Forgiveness eligibility403(b) Retirement Plan + up to 6% Employer MatchHealth Insurance available the first of the month following 30 days of employment (Sharp)EAPKey Responsibilities:Uphold and promote the mission, philosophy, values, and direction of McAlister Institute.Provide accurate, detailed information to all phone inquiries and in a courteous manner.Conduct brief ASAM screenings by phone to assess the appropriate level of care.Offer referrals and warm hand-offs for individuals not meeting the program's level of care criteria.Schedule intake appointments and manage intake calendar.Complete all intake documentation and paperwork accurately and on time.Collaborate with LPHA to communicate accurate clinical information face-to-face.Requirements:Minimum of two years of administrative/clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare or social services setting.Must be registered or certified with an Alcohol and Other Drug agency (AOD) and provide proof.Bachelor's degree in human services field preferred.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.Compliance with all agency and contract requirements related to trainings, public health, certifications, and reporting.Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings, including references, education verification, a criminal background check with at least one year clear of probation or parole, a drug and TB test.Must have reliable transportation.Equal Opportunity Employer:McAlister Institute is committed to creating a diverse environment and we are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
