Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Baytown, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $45.00/hour

Schedule: Night Shift | 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to support a leading, patient-centered healthcare system in Baytown, TX .

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, professional nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and acuity levels.

   

• Perform thorough nursing assessments and develop and implement appropriate plans of care.

   

• Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and emergency interventions.

   

• Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.

   

• Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention.

   

• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and follow-up care.

   

• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and outcomes in the medical record.

   

• Collaborate closely with physicians and the interprofessional healthcare team to coordinate efficient, high-quality patient care.

   

• Demonstrate clinical competence when utilizing medical technology, performing nursing procedures, and managing emergency situations.

   

• Serve as a patient and family advocate while protecting patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality.

   

• Effectively prioritize care in a high-volume Emergency Department with rapidly changing patient needs.

   

• Participate in unit-based and shared-governance initiatives that support quality improvement and patient outcomes.

   

• May serve as a charge nurse, preceptor, or mentor to new employees and nursing students.

   

• Support department and hospital-wide initiatives in collaboration with nursing leadership.

   

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

   

• Texas or Compact RN license required.

   

• Minimum 2.5 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience required.

   

• Recent experience working in a high-volume Emergency Department required.

   

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through the American Heart Association (AHA).

   

• CPI certification preferred.

   

• Epic experience preferred.

   

• Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.

   

• Ability to remain calm and effective while managing multiple priorities in a high-acuity environment.
