Electrical Controls Engineer - GypsumGeorgia-Pacific's Gypsum Products division is seeking qualified safety-oriented individuals to join our team at the Newington, NH manufacturing operation as an Electrical Controls Engineer. This is a highly skilled salary position requiring a thorough understanding of electrical controls, troubleshooting, installations, maintenance, electrical safe work practices, and computer skills. Electrical Controls Engineer will provide technical expertise and project engineering as required to support the facility's execution plan and operations. This position will be responsible for the integration of new projects including installation and design of new vision systems and automation equipment. The role will have direct impact on safety, reliability, cost reduction, and process improvement at the facility.The Electrical Control Engineer is a subject matter expert supporting operations and capital projects. The selected candidate will utilize automation systems to increase the throughput, quality, safety and reliability of our processes. A successful candidate will:Provide conceptual system design for proposed projectsDevelop engineering and capital cost estimates for assigned projectsProvide design documentation sufficient for construction, operations, and maintenanceImplement programming guidelines and standardsDesign, program, modify and maintain PLC and HMI systemsManage implementation of upgrades and new technologyDevelop and implement control strategiesWork with corporate teams and contractors to specify and install systemsCreate instrumentation and control system specificationsSupport on-call and maintenance schedule duties to the plantAbility to travel to vendor and other GP Facilities is requiredRequirements:Experience in Automation or Process ControlExperience in Industrial Control Systems (PLCs, motor controls, control valves, industrial instrumentation for positioning, flow, level, pressure, & temperature)Process Control NetworkingHMI/SCADA Maintenance and DesignExperience in Control System documentation using MS Office and AutoCADWhat Will Put You Ahead:Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Process Control, Chemical or Mechanical EngineeringExperience with vision system integration in manufacturing plantsIndustrial electrical knowledge, including both power (480VAC) and control circuitsServer and PC knowledge (Windows, Linux,etc.)Prior experience in a plant maintenance departmentPreferred platforms and standards: Rockwell Studio 5000 and legacy platforms (RSlogix 5, 500), CTI PLCs and related legacy infrastructure, Ignition, GE Proficy iFix, and FactoryTalk View, Rockwell Powerflex and Kinetix drives, Yaskawa A1000 and legacy drives, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profibus communication protocols, Thin Client Architecture
