Facility: This hospital is part of a respected healthcare system providing emergency medicine services to the Port Charlotte community. The emergency department features 34 beds with a moderate annual volume of 30,000 patients and strong support from hospitalists who handle admissions.

Opportunity: Physician (MD) - Emergency Medicine

Job Details:
Position for 2 Emergency Medicine physicians
Must be BC/BE Emergency Medicine (EM residency trained), ABEM/ABOEM only
Mixed shifts required with emphasis on overnight coverage
Physician shift times: 6am-3pm, 1pm-10pm, 9pm-6am
APP Coverage: M-F 10am-10pm, 3pm-Midnight; Sat-Sun 10am-10pm, 3pm-1am
Moderate patient volume of 2-2.2 patients per hour
25% admission rate and 2% transfer rate (mainly trauma, neurosurgery, and pediatrics cases)
Hospitalists handle all admissions
24-hour availability of support services including anesthesia, cardio-thoracic surgery, cath lab, general surgery, laboratory, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, radiology, and vascular surgery
ED receives newborn deliveries with L&D department available
Florida license or IMLC required
ACLS certification required
Candidates must be outside a 50-mile radius of Port Charlotte
Start date: March 1, 2026 with ongoing need
