We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Facilities Technician (CFT/CFMT) to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of mission-critical infrastructure within a high-availability data center environment. This role is ideal for mechanically and electrically inclined professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments where uptime, safety, and operational excellence are top priorities.

As a member of our facilities team, you will play a key role in ensuring the continuous operation of essential building systems, including electrical distribution, HVAC, generators, fire/life safety systems, and building automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Critical Facilities Operations & Maintenance

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical and non-critical facility infrastructure.

• Operate, monitor, inspect, and maintain mission-critical equipment to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.

• Execute all work in accordance with established MOPs (Methods of Procedure), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), ERPs (Emergency Response Procedures), and safety guidelines.

• Conduct routine facility rounds and monitor building systems for performance, efficiency, and potential issues.

Mechanical Systems

• Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC and environmental control systems.

• Support plumbing systems installation, repair, and maintenance activities.

• Operate and maintain backup generator systems and fuel infrastructure.

• Service fire detection, fire suppression, and life safety systems.

• Support building automation systems (BAS), temperature controls, and other digital monitoring platforms.

Electrical Systems

• Assist with the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical distribution systems within a critical facilities environment.

• Support electrical maintenance planning, scheduling, and energy management initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with change management processes, operational standards, and safety requirements.

• Develop a strong understanding of facility electrical design and system functionality.

Work Order & Vendor Management

• Receive, prioritize, and complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.

• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document work performed and close out maintenance activities.

• Coordinate with facility leadership to identify required materials, parts, and resources.

• Oversee and support third-party vendors and contractors performing maintenance or project work onsite.

Emergency Response & Safety

• Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations including equipment failures, power events, fire alarms, evacuations, and other critical incidents.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, reliability, and safety.

• Evaluate and monitor contractor and employee adherence to established safety procedures and work practices.

• Perform fire alarm system enablement and disablement activities as required for maintenance operations.

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical and/or electrical systems.

• Experience operating within a data center, critical facilities, industrial, manufacturing, military, or similar high-reliability environment.

• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, generators, UPS systems, building automation systems, or related infrastructure.

• Strong commitment to safety, operational procedures, and quality workmanship.

• Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• 3-5+ years of experience supporting critical facilities, electrical systems, mechanical systems, or building operations.

• Alternatively, 7+ years of experience as an HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or facilities technician.

• Military technical experience strongly encouraged to apply.

• Electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or facilities-related certifications preferred.

• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS), generators, fire/life safety systems, or data center infrastructure is highly desirable.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.

• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

• On-call or emergency response responsibilities may be required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Hillsboro, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
