Position Summary

American Printing is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bindery Operator to join our production team in Fremont, CA. The Bindery Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining bindery equipment to produce high-quality finished printed products. This position plays a critical role in ensuring jobs are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule while meeting customer specifications and company quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and operate bindery equipment including folders, cutters, stitchers, collators, laminators, and related finishing machinery.
• Experience in wide format finishing a strong plus.
• Review work orders and job specifications to ensure accurate production and finishing requirements.
• Monitor product quality throughout production runs and make adjustments as necessary.
• Perform precise measurements and inspections to verify finished products meet customer expectations.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and make minor mechanical adjustments to maintain productivity.
• Maintain production schedules and meet established deadlines.
• Complete production reports and accurately record job information.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and keep equipment clean and safe.
• Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing best practices.
• Assist with other production and finishing operations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of bindery or print finishing experience in a commercial printing environment preferred.
• Experience operating cutters, folders, stitchers, and other bindery equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, job tickets, and production specifications.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
• Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to work safely around industrial production equipment.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and commercial printing production facility.
• Exposure to standard printing and finishing equipment noise.
• Fast-paced production environment with changing priorities and deadlines.

• Pay range $22-$28 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications

Scheduled/Shift

Schedule: 

• Full-Time 
• Monday through Friday
• 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Occasional overtime and Saturdays as needed to meet production deadlines
