The Sr. Manager, Accounting leads the technical and general accounting functions. Other functions include fixed assets management, investment analysis, transaction accounting, coordination of month-end close and the annual financial audit. Significant elements of the work involve leading the team with problem solving, coordination of work activities, reconciliations, and analysis associated the financial management of the business.Is this you? ResponsibilitiesHow do I make an impact on my team?Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholdersAssumes primary responsibility for general ledger accounting, ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place, and all transactions and journal entries are timely and accurateProvide leadership over the month-end and quarterly close process, ensuring timely and accurate reportingParticipate in budgeting and forecasting activities, contributing to the company’s financial planningOversees staff accountable for the fixed asset accounting records, including custodial informationParticipate in annual financial and retirement plan audits by coordinating requests, reviewing financial statement and preparing footnote disclosuresEstablish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, policies and initiatives on new accounting guidelines for effective adoptionResponsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of team including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problemsLead the team through improvement projects for key financial/ERP systems and other business processesOther duties as assignedQualificationsWhat our team expects from you? A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. Consideration will also be given to applicable post-graduate educationA CPA is strongly preferredA minimum five years of accounting experience in a similar role is requiredA minimum three years supervising accounting staff is requiredConsolidations and intercompany accounting experience strongly preferredCandidate must have experience with accounting software (Microsoft Great Plains preferred)Experience in the health care industry is preferred, but not requiredParticipate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectivesThe ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employeesWhat can you expect from Navitus?
