Assistant Controller

Our client is a publicly traded medical technology company headquartered in Princeton, NJ, focused on developing innovative blood purification therapies that improve outcomes for critically ill patients worldwide. They are seeking an Accounting Manager to join their growing finance team with the potential to convert to a permanent position . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and wants to make an immediate impact within a public company. Reporting to the Controller, you’ll play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, process improvements, and day-to-day accounting operations while partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization. Key Responsibilities Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Support the preparation of financial statements and SEC reporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Oversee general ledger accounting activities and maintain the integrity of the company’s financial records. Review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances and unusual transactions. Support the annual audit and quarterly review process by working closely with external auditors. Assist with maintaining and improving internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes. Partner with FP&A, Operations, and other business partners to support reporting and business initiatives. Help identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting workflows and reporting processes. Mentor and provide guidance to members of the accounting team as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred. 8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience with a combination of public accounting and/or industry experience. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes. Public company reporting experience is a plus. Experience in life sciences, medical device, manufacturing, or a regulated industry is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) is highly desirable.
