Preferred Requirement: A Bachelor of Science degree in a business-related field is preferred. Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of MyFloridaMarketPlace, the Purchasing Card system, and State of Florida purchasing processes preferred. Other required knowledge, skills and abilities include: Experience with computers, including the Microsoft Office software package, especially Word and Excel. Professional office/secretarial/accounting experience with filing, bookkeeping, and customer service. Description of Duties: An exciting opportunity exists for a Staff Assistant to join our team of employees within the Wildlife and Habitat Management Section of FWC. FWC's Southwest Region is seeking a motivated applicant that can provide secretarial and staff support for the District Biologist, Lake Wales Ridge WEA lead area biologist and staff. Activities in support of these positions include: processing invoices, requisitions, purchasing card charges, and other administrative paperwork; assisting with procurement of commodities and services; assisting in developing and tracking operational budgets and plans; preparing and organizing all correspondence and project-related files; providing routine clerical support, including managing correspondence, maintaining stocks of office supplies, and photocopying; maintaining calendars and making meeting or travel arrangements; researching and assembling data for reports; receiving and routing telephone calls; responding to public requests for publications, rules, status of projects, and other information; providing assistance to other sections/offices/divisions; and completing other duties as assigned or needed.
