Account Executive (Cape Girardeau)

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Account Executive to join our vibrant sales team! The Account Executive, or AE, is responsible for the sales and service of DSW Signs Outdoor current advertising inventory. The AE is expected to create a rewarding experience for clients that leads to future business. This position requires the candidate to be a self‐starter and to have the ability to generate new client leads. Three or more years sales experience required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

• Meet and exceed sales goals
• Make cold calls to generate new leads and develop customer relationships
• Review low-occupancy areas to decide which prospective clients and locations to focus on
• Work with leadership on strategies to reactivate dormant accounts
• Prepare proposals and sales materials with the Creative Team
• Follow up with clients on proposal approvals and acceptance

Client Relationships & Service

• Follow up with existing clients by email, phone, and site visits
• Provide excellent customer service while finding new business opportunities
• Follow up on completed projects for new and existing clients
• Build strong relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals
• Visit local client sites to build relationships and close sales, and travel farther (including Texas) when needed

Reporting & Account Management

• Track your own sales data, report results to leadership, and adjust your strategy as needed
• Report new sales, renewals, and retention to the DSW Sign team every week or two
• Keep the team informed about account needs and proposals
• Review accounts receivable each month, identify past-due clients, and help with collections

Community & Professional Development

• Attend community events as assigned, such as First Friday Coffee and ribbon cuttings
• Attend industry conferences (e.g., IBO) that support sales and marketing initiatives
• Keep building your product knowledge and sales skills

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3 years prior in experience in advertising sales / business presentations
• Prior experience with transferring calls on landline telephone
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry and record keeping
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills in customer support scenarios to deliver effective solutions quickly
• Some college coursework
• Drafting documents: Adobe Acrobat
• Advertising-related programs: Apparatix, Google Earth
