Restaurant General Manager

GENERAL MANAGER
French Restaurant | Westside, Los Angeles

An established, owner-operated French restaurant on the Westside is seeking a General Manager to lead the front of house and own the wine program.

The kitchen is in strong hands. This role is about everything in front of it: the service, the team, the room, and the list. The floor is yours to build and the wine program is yours to shape.

Dinner only. A chef-driven kitchen with a real point of view. The service needs to match the quality of the food. This role is well suited to someone who has spent years holding a standard and is ready for a room of their own.

What you'll own

• All front of house operations and the service standard that goes with them
• The wine and beverage program including buying, inventory, and cost control
• The financials: labor, COGS, controllable expenses, and the decisions behind them
• Hiring, training, and building a FOH team
• Systems that make service predictable instead of heroic
• Guest relations and service recovery, handled with grace
• Operational strategy alongside ownership and culinary leadership
• California labor compliance and responsible alcohol service
• Private dining and event execution

Who we're looking for

• Sommelier training or serious wine experience is essential
• 4+ years in senior leadership at a chef-driven or upscale restaurant
• Michelin-level experience is highly valued
• Experience in the $2M to $5M+ annual range
• A track record managing labor and beverage costs, with the numbers to back it up
• French language skills are a genuine plus and will come up more than you'd think
• Comfortable working alongside hands-on ownership
• Private party programming experience is a bonus

What you should be good at
Reading a P&L and strategizing. Staying composed when the room turns. Knowing when to step in and when to let the team handle it. Setting clear expectations and developing people who exceed them. Building processes that hold up on a busy night.

Compensation

• $100,000 to $110,000 depending on experience
• Quarterly performance bonus tied to beverage cost, labor, and revenue targets
