We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support key accounting operations for a healthcare organization in Torrance, California. This Contract position will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing close activities, and ensuring account balances are properly reviewed and supported. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and general ledger oversight within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing financial data, and helping ensure deadlines are met accurately.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and alignment to accounting standards.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations to verify balances, investigate variances, and support accurate financial reporting.
• Complete bank reconciliations by matching transactions, researching exceptions, and clearing outstanding items.
• Reconcile ledger accounts on a routine basis to confirm completeness, accuracy, and proper classification of transactions.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial information, clarify accounting activity, and support reporting needs.
• Assist with documentation and process-related accounting tasks, including activities tied to financial system or workflow updates when needed.• Demonstrated experience working as a Senior Accountant or in a comparable accounting role.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger management.
• Proven ability to prepare journal entries and complete multiple types of account reconciliations accurately.
• Experience performing bank reconciliations and investigating account discrepancies through resolution.
• Solid understanding of ledger reconciliation practices and balance sheet account review.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial analysis and reporting.
