Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Cardiology

Description

This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide high-quality cardiovascular care in a collaborative clinical environment.

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive cardiology services, including patient evaluation, diagnosis, and management of cardiovascular conditions. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals within the Medical Practice industry, contributing directly to improved patient outcomes and the continued success of the practice.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiology consultations and patient evaluations
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of cardiovascular conditions
• Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation
• Educate patients on cardiovascular health, prevention, and lifestyle modifications
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Adhere to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in case reviews and clinical discussions with colleagues
• Provide continuity of care throughout the locum assignment
• Support the practice in maintaining high standards of patient satisfaction

Requirements

• MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree
• Board certification or eligibility in Cardiology
• Active and unrestricted medical license to practice
• Associate-level experience in cardiology or related clinical practice
• Strong clinical diagnostic and decision-making skills
• Proficiency in interpreting cardiac diagnostic tests and imaging
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site clinical environment
• Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based medicine
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical settings and teams
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications preferred

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

No call required

Setting: Outpatient

Duties: New consults, follow-ups, transfer-of-care visits, and ECG interpretation

Support Staff: MA, RN, and echo techs

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

ACLS, BLS, and DEA required
