Located in Concordia, Kansas, Tallgrass Veterinary Hospital is a mixed-animal practice serving both small and large animals throughout north-central Kansas. Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting our veterinarians and technicians while helping provide excellent patient care. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Safely handling and restraining animals for exams and treatments
• Administering medications as directed by the veterinarian
• Collecting laboratory samples, including blood and urine, and assisting with diagnostic testing
• Monitoring and recording patient vital signs
• Cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment
• Caring for hospitalized patients
• Assisting with client education and providing compassionate customer service
• Helping maintain an organized, efficient, and welcoming hospital environment

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is dependable, eager to learn, and passionate about animal care.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a veterinary clinic
• Experience working with animals through kennels, boarding facilities, farms, pet care, or similar settings
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and basic animal anatomy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift and safely restrain animals of varying sizes
• Willingness to work with both small and large animals

Experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate. We are happy to train motivated individuals who have a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for animal care.
