Job Title Interventional Psychiatrist, Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Psychiatry, Adult Outpatient (OPD) Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY Type: Full-Time Category: Physicians Interventional Psychiatrist, Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Psychiatry, Adult Outpatient (OPD) Location Stony Brook, New York Description Stony Brook University Department of Psychiatry is undergoing tremendous growth. Our adult outpatient psychiatry service is expanding and we are looking for individuals who welcome the challenge and satisfaction of providing outpatient psychiatric care to a diverse population win collaboration with a motivated group of clinicians, educators and researchers. The Clinical Assistant Professor of Interventional Psychiatry will serve as an Attending Psychiatrist in the Treatment Refractory Depression (TRD) Program in Adult Outpatient Psychiatry. The attending psychiatrist will perform evaluations and treatment of patients with Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD) for/with advanced antidepressant therapies such as Pharmacotherapy, Psychotherapy, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Ketamine Intra Nasal or Intra Venous Therapy (KINT or KIVT), Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT), Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS), as well as other advanced antidepressant treatment modalities. Responsibilities include direct patient care in the adult outpatient clinic, including diagnostic evaluations, follow-up care, telepsychiatry and teaching and supervision of medical students, residents and fellows. Research, teaching and clinical supervision of psychiatric residents and medical students and other trainees are integral parts of this position, along with direct involvement in process improvement and program development. We are a fast growing program and service which adheres to the consultation model of service delivery and are looking to further impact the health of the population we serve through the addition of new therapies. Shifts totaling 40 hours per week (with hospital weekend/holiday on call, if needed). There are also opportunities for clinical research involving psychiatric inpatient and outpatient treatment and in collaboration with other departments. Qualifications Required Qualifications: M.D./D.O. (or foreign eqivalent) with Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry. Eligibility for New York State licensure. Preferred Qualifications: Clinical experience in an Adult Psychiatry Outpatient Program. Experience in transcranial magnetic brain stimulation. Track record of research/teaching experience in Psychiatry.
