Job Summary

· In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Scheduler functions as a liaison between the physicians, patients, office and hospital testing staff in scheduling patient’s office visits and testing.

· Communicates pertinent clinical/scheduling information to the physicians and office staff.

· Coordinates physician and device office visits and testing appointments. Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

· Education: High school graduate or equivalent

· Licensure / Certification:

· Experience: One year experience working with scheduling or hospital units/ancillary departments preferred.

· Effective Communication Skills

· Customer service oriented

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office and scheduling software.

· (For patient care providers) Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.

· Utilizes patient information and physician assessment to identify patient's scheduling needs. Prepares written orders for testing.

· Educates patients or referring offices on preparation instruction prior to testing and ensures comprehension.

· Coordinates and schedules physician and device office visits and testing appointments.

· Accurate and efficient with scheduling processes and systems to meet practice productivity standards in order decrease customer wait times while adhering to the Standards of Service Excellence.

· Independently problem solves to indentify areas of opportunity to enhance the customer experience.

· Responsible for ensuring complete and accurate collection of patient information and demographics.

· Communicates with the office staff to as needed for continuity and delivery of quality care.

· Makes changes to the schedules as needed per supervisor request. Other Job Responsibilities

· Participates in and fosters a performance improvement approach to includes both intradepartmental and interdepartmental activities.

· Responsible for compliance with Organizational Integrity through raising questions and promptly reporting actual or potential wrongdoing.

· All other duties as assigned.

• Incoming phone calls

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent

• Experience: One year experience working with scheduling or hospital units/ancillary departments preferred.
