Assistant Manager – HVAC Operations

TOPS Staffing is partnering with a growing HVAC company in the Greater Pittsburgh area to find an Assistant Manager to help coordinate daily operations, projects, employees, materials, and scheduling.

This is an office-based management position with no regular field work. You'll work closely with project managers and crew leads to make sure the right people, materials, equipment, and information are in place to keep HVAC projects moving.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, comfortable with computers and Excel, communicates well, and enjoys solving problems and keeping multiple things moving at once.

Job Details

• Position: Assistant Manager – HVAC Operations
• Employment: Contract-to-Hire
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Pay: $45,000–$65,000/year based on experience
• Location: Greater Pittsburgh Area
• Work Environment: Primarily office-based

What You'll Do

• Coordinate HVAC projects from start to completion
• Work with project managers and crew leads to coordinate daily labor and assignments
• Schedule HVAC installation and service work
• Help manage employee assignments and crew configurations
• Coordinate purchasing and delivery of HVAC materials, parts, and equipment
• Track project costs, pricing, and profitability
• Use Excel and company software for scheduling, purchasing, reporting, and project tracking
• Communicate project information and updates to employees and management
• Help resolve scheduling, staffing, material, and project issues
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and employee management
• Help ensure projects stay on schedule and have the necessary materials and manpower
• Complete administrative, accounting, and reporting tasks related to projects

• Leadership ability and confidence making decisions
• Construction, HVAC, manufacturing, or other operations experience is a plus

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
• Previous experience coordinating people, projects, scheduling, purchasing, or operations is a plus
• HVAC knowledge is helpful but not required—the right candidate can learn the technical side of the business
