FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST

About the Position The incumbent will serve as a Financial Management Analyst at USSOUTHCOM Resources and Analysis Directorate – Financial Management and Comptroller Division in Miami, FL. Who May Apply: US citizens. Qualifications for GS‑07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) verifying sufficient funds are available for disbursement prior to submission; 2) conducting research regarding financial guidance to ensure compliance within the organization; 3) generating computerized reports containing monetary data required to prepare for the administration of the organization’s budget. Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as finance and/or accounting. Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement.

1. Class Standing: Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision based on completed courses.
2. Grade‑Point Average (G.P.A.): Applicants must have a GPA of either 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on the official transcript, or as computed based on four years of education, or based on courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses in the major field or the required courses completed in the major field during the final two years.
3. Honor Society Membership: Applicants may be considered eligible based on membership in one of the approved national scholastic honor societies.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide total months of experience by 12, then divide total graduate semester hours by 18. Add the two percentages. Qualifications for GS‑09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) preparing recommendations for budgetary adjustments to realign funds; 2) reviewing legal and regulatory guidelines to ensure distribution of funds is accurate; 3) monitoring the rate of expenditure regarding funds and resources to properly administer the organizational budget. Education: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as finance and/or accounting. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide total months of experience by 12, then divide the total graduate semester hours beyond the first year by 18. Add the two percentages. Qualifications for GS‑11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) monitoring program budget functions to ensure proper execution of funds; 2) providing recommendations to management regarding the reallocation of resources to improve internal productivity; 3) processing funding transactions using financial government computerized, web‑based applications to accurately disperse monetary allocations. Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as finance and/or accounting. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
