Appeals Specialist

Adaptive Biotechnologies seeks an Appeals Specialist to manage insurance claim appeals for molecular and genetic testing services. The role involves preparing appeal documentation, tracking payer responses, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve denials and support revenue cycle operations.

Responsibilities

• Review denied claims and develop appeal strategies aligned with payer guidelines
• Prepare and submit appeal letters with supporting documentation via appropriate payer channels
• Track appeal status, maintain records, and contact insurance companies for progress updates
• Stay current on payer policies and ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with prior authorization, billing, and provider teams to gather required documentation

Requirements

• High school diploma minimum
• 2 years insurance appeals, medical billing, or revenue cycle experience
• Strong understanding of insurance processes and denial management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with billing systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities

Compensation: $22.74 - $27.79 hourly; equity grant and bonus eligible
