Quality Technician

Summary:Responsible for supporting the quality function at Hynes IndustriesEssential Duties and Responsibilities Includes the following:Perform inspection/testing (e.g. First Articles, customer returns, incoming inspection, supplier issues) using gages including; micrometers, calipers, protractors and various other gages/fixturesRead and interpret drawingsAssist with Document Control efforts (e.g., documentation updates)Support the Control of Nonconforming Product process by ensuring appropriate segregation, identification and disposition of such product and entering information into the Nonconformance Log.Assist with problem identification, investigation and resolutionAssist with complaints (e.g., supplier, customer and internal) including entering information into complaint system databaseAdvise, train and support operators with the quality processesPerform product audit production/inspectionPerform out-going dock audits of finished goodsAssist incoming inspection for raw material and outside processing productMaintain records per Business Management System requirementsAdditional duties, as assignedQualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These are minimum requirements. Additional education or training preferred in the area of quality. ASQ certificates desirable.Skills:Basic math skillsBlueprint readingAbility to use measuring and test equipment (calipers, micrometers, protractors etc.)Basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel)Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit. The employee is regularly required to use hands to feel or handle tools, objects and controls. The employee is rarely required to lift or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is rarely exposed to vibration.
