Position Summary
The Restaurant Host is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth guest flow. As the first and last point of contact, the Host plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the overall efficiency of the restaurant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and thank them as they leave.
• Manage reservations and walk-ins using Toast Tables.
• Maintain an organized and accurate waitlist during peak hours.
• Coordinate with servers and bussers to optimize table seating.
• Answer questions about menu items, restaurant policies, and wait times.
• Answer phone calls and assist callers with reservations, and general questions.
• Monitor and restock host station supplies, including menus and promotional materials.
• Assist in light cleaning tasks, including cleaning menu covers.
• Communicate effectively with the Operations Manager and other staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous hosting experience required, fine dining experience preferred.
• CA Food Handler certification required (or ability to obtain prior to starting).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle busy shifts in a calm and professional manner.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee may  stand for extended periods.
• The employee may occasionally lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive motions are required.
