Vet-to-Vet Hospice Companion — Weekly Volunteer Visits

Overview At Housecall Providers, our mission is: Improving lives by bringing health care home. Housecall Providers is seeking Veterans to help us serve elder Veterans. Very often, only another Veteran truly understands . That is the simple reasoning behind the establishment of our Vet-to-Vet program, seeking to recruit Veteran volunteers to serve the unique needs of Veteran patients. Our Vet-to-Vet volunteers will make weekly visits to patients who are on hospice, are disabled, or living with advanced illness—providing emotional support, companionship, or simply quiet acceptance. When one of our patients identifies as a Veteran, their presence will be our most important asset. This is a simple but powerful way to be of service to each other, and to the larger community of veterans. Training is provided and can be individualized to fit your schedule. By acting as a companion to our patients, you will not only walk with that person through one of life's most potentially difficult moments - you will be assisting us in lifting the quality of healthcare available in our community!
