Technical Project Manager

Hybrid in either Plano TX or Sandy Springs GA 3 days a week We have an immediate need for a Technical Project Manager with Employee Benefit experience. Pharmacy and/or healthcare experience is required. Must have direct experience with platform builds. Database management, heavy articulation, great communication skills, budget management. HITRUST Certified preferred Technical Project Manager – Software Development Platforms The Technical Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise software development platform initiatives across the organization. This role demands hands‑on technical project leadership with a strong foundation in PMI methodologies, project financial management, and cross‑functional coordination spanning multiple business verticals. The individual will partner with business leaders, development teams, analysts, and external vendors to deliver complex technology projects on time, within budget, and within scope—while maintaining clear, consistent communication with senior leadership. A working background in Employee Benefits is required, with particular value placed on experience supporting pharmacy management operations and medical/provider environments. Essential Duties and Functions include the following: Lead the end-to-end delivery of software development platform projects, including architecture decisions, build/buy analysis, integration planning, and production deployment Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for the execution of multiple concurrent technical initiatives Develop and manage detailed project budgets, including cost forecasting, spend tracking, variance reporting, and financial escalation when constraints require adjustment Build and maintain detailed project plans with milestones, dependencies, resource models, and critical path analysis Define project scope and objectives in collaboration with business stakeholders, development teams, and technical leads, ensuring technical feasibility and strategic alignment Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using formal change control and verification techniques aligned with PMI standards Measure and report project performance using appropriate tools, KPIs, and earned value management techniques Perform risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning; elevate to leadership as needed Establish and maintain productive relationships with third-party vendors, including contract performance management and deliverable accountability Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including charters, status reports, RAID logs, and lessons learned Meet with business stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify objectives, and align technical delivery with operational needs Track project performance to analyze successful completion of short- and long-term goals Actively participate in software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management Support user acceptance testing (UAT) on development efforts prior to launch to identify potential gaps in functionality and usability Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or Associate's degree with equivalent professional experience Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent PMI credential Minimum of five (5) years managing technical projects with hands‑on experience leading software development platform implementations or modernization efforts Demonstrated proficiency with PMI project management principles, including formal budgeting, cost management, schedule control, and earned value analysis Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple business domains and organizational verticals, including effective coordination outside of primary subject matter expertise Working experience in the Employee Benefits industry Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), including Agile, hybrid, and waterfall methodologies Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Ability to travel as needed to support corporate projects Preferred: Minimum of four (4) years of experience supporting pharmacy management, Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM), or medical/provider operations Experience with enterprise data platforms, integration layers, APIs, ETL pipelines, or cloud-based development environments Previous experience managing vendor‑led or outsourced software development engagements Familiarity with healthcare regulatory and compliance frameworks, including HIPAA, HITRUST, and HITECH Experience with portfolio‑level project governance and demand management practices Exposure to modern development toolchains and AI‑assisted development environments Vertex Solutions Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, ancestry, religion, age, citizenship, sex, marital or veteran status, disability or handicap, sexual orientation or any other basis prohibited by applicable law. #J-18808-Ljbffr Vertex Solutions Inc.
