About the Role You will serve as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), reporting to the Plasma Center Manager and supporting plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Manage donor adverse events, evaluate donor reactions, follow SOPs for medical emergencies, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues involving donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats. Provide center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS), following guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑level nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment: EMT‑Paramedic. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
