General Manager

Altro Paradiso is seeking an experienced and inspiring General Manager to lead one of SoHo's most beloved and well-established restaurants.

Located in the heart of SoHo, Altro Paradiso is Chef Ignacio Mattos' acclaimed Italian restaurant, known for its warm hospitality, exceptional food and wine, and vibrant neighborhood energy. Since opening in 2016, Altro Paradiso has earned national recognition for its thoughtful approach to modern Italian cuisine, outstanding beverage program, and genuine hospitality.

We are looking for a hospitality professional who leads with integrity, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about developing people and creating memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate is an exceptional leader who balances operational excellence with emotional intelligence, inspires high-performing teams, and understands that remarkable restaurants are built through consistency, accountability, and genuine care for both guests and employees.

This position requires evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations

• Lead all day-to-day front-of-house operations while partnering closely with the Culinary leadership.
• Foster a culture of hospitality, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Drive operational excellence by maintaining exceptional standards of food, beverage, service, and cleanliness.
• Ensure seamless execution of lunch, dinner, and private events while remaining highly visible during service.
• Monitor financial performance, labor, and controllable expenses to achieve operational and profitability goals.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve sales, guest experience, and efficiency.

Team Leadership & Development

• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop an exceptional front-of-house team.
• Coach managers and hourly employees through regular feedback, accountability, and meaningful performance conversations.
• Create clear expectations and provide ongoing training to elevate service, hospitality, beverage knowledge, and leadership skills.
• Build a workplace where employees feel respected, supported, and empowered to grow professionally.
• Partner with Human Resources to ensure compliance with employment policies, performance management, and employee relations best practices.

Guest Experience

• Champion genuine hospitality and cultivate lasting relationships with guests.
• Resolve guest concerns thoughtfully, professionally, and with a solutions-oriented mindset.
• Continuously evaluate the guest experience and identify opportunities to elevate every touchpoint.

• Proven experience leading high-performing restaurant teams in an upscale or fine dining environment.
• Strong financial and operational acumen, including labor management, forecasting, and cost control.
• A collaborative leadership style with excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop managers and build engaged, accountable teams.
• Calm, decisive, and solutions-oriented under pressure.
• A genuine passion for hospitality, food, wine, and creating exceptional guest experiences.
