About the Facility - Navy Medical Center San Diego
Naval Medical Center San Diego also known as Bob Wilson Naval Hospital and informally referred to as "Balboa Hospital ", is a technologically advanced Navy medical treatment facility. Located within the grounds of Balboa Park in San Diego, the hospital has played a role in the history of San Diego for more than 100 years. The goal has remained constant, to provide the finest medical care in a family-centered care environment to operational forces, their families, and veterans. Organizationally, the hospital is first and foremost a military command.

Internal Medicine Physician - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• The Internal Medicine Physician provides medical services within the defined scope of clinical privileges and contractual obligations.
• Review patient consultations, medical records, and physical assessments to assess suitability for various assignments or duties.
• Review electronic medical reports and results, enter progress notes, and utilize electronic systems for patient management.
• Analyze medical conditions based on diverse evaluations and reports, integrating findings into comprehensive clinical assessments.
• The Internal Medicine Physician provides appropriate consultations and referrals for further diagnosis and treatment.
• Conduct Independent Medical Reviews (IMRs) upon request.
• Participate in committees and administrative tasks as required.
• The Internal Medicine Physician performs other duties consistent with the responsibilities of a physician as directed by the relevant authority.

Internal Medicine Physician - REQUIREMENTS

• Possess one year of experience within the last two years as a physician or internal medicine setting OR have successfully completed the Family Practice or Internal Medicine residency program within one year to applying for this position.
• Shall have a degree of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
• Must be a Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada.
• Must be board certified OR board eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Must have and maintain a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
• Must have and maintain BLS through AHA.
