Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Speech Tactics, PC
Job Description
Job Description
Licensed Mental Health Counselor / Licensed Professional Counselor (LMHC/LPC)
Psychological Services Team | The LEEAP Center
Charlotte, NC
At The LEEAP Center , we do things differently—and purposefully.
Formerly Speech Tactics, The LEEAP Center is growing into a 21,000-square-foot interdisciplinary child and family therapy hub in Charlotte , bringing together Speech, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, ABA, Psychological Services, Feeding & Swallowing, Bilingual Therapy, and Tele-therapy under one roof. Our mission is rooted in a simple belief: therapy is more than a service. It is a lifeline of support, advocacy, and compassion for children and families.
We are a people-first, purpose-driven organization committed to going Beyond Therapy by supporting the whole child, the whole family, and the broader systems that shape long-term outcomes . Our clinicians do not work in silos. They collaborate with intention, curiosity, and care inside a truly interdisciplinary environment built to help children thrive.
We are not looking for someone to simply fill a role. We are seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor / Licensed Professional Counselor who is clinically strong, diagnostically thoughtful, emotionally intelligent, and deeply aligned with our mission.
This role is for a clinician who understands that accurate diagnosis, strong formulation, family engagement, and collaborative care can change a child’s entire trajectory.
About the OpportunityThe LEEAP Center is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor / LPC to join our growing Psychological Services Team and provide high-quality mental health support to children, adolescents, and families within an interdisciplinary pediatric setting.
This is an ideal opportunity for a clinician who:
- Thinks beyond surface symptoms
- Values thoughtful, evidence-based case conceptualization
- Understands the developmental, relational, and systemic factors that influence child and family functioning
- Wants to work in an environment where collaboration is real, not performative
The ideal candidate is confident in diagnostic assessment , grounded in a clear theoretical orientation, and committed to delivering care that is clinically excellent, family-centered, and culturally responsive.
What Makes This Opportunity DifferentAt The LEEAP Center, you will have the opportunity to:
- Work inside a true interdisciplinary model alongside Speech, OT, PT, ABA, and Psychology
- Contribute to care that supports the whole child and whole family
- Partner with a team that believes collaboration improves outcomes
- Join an organization scaling with intention, not chaos, as it expands into one of Charlotte’s largest interdisciplinary pediatric therapy hubs
- Be part of a culture rooted in Integrity, Growth, Compassion, Community, Empowerment, and Service
- Help build something bigger than traditional therapy
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic intakes and mental health assessments for children and adolescents
- Develop clear, evidence-based case conceptualizations that reflect developmental, emotional, relational, and environmental factors
- Assign diagnoses with clinical integrity and diagnostic precision
- Provide individual, family, and parent-support therapy services
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, ABA providers, and psychologists
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, consultation, and shared care planning
- Provide recommendations that consider school, medical, behavioral, and family systems
- Maintain timely, compliant, and high-quality clinical documentation
- Support families with clarity, compassion, and practical guidance
- Contribute to the continued growth and innovation of Psychological Services at The LEEAP Center
We are looking for a clinician who can:
- Demonstrate strong diagnostic reasoning and differential diagnosis skills
- Conceptualize beyond presenting symptoms to identify root patterns and contributing influences
- Practice from a clearly defined theoretical orientation and articulate how it informs treatment
- Deliver culturally responsive, ethical, and family-centered care
- Engage parents and caregivers as active partners in the therapeutic process
- Seek consultation when clinically appropriate
- Continue growing in clinical depth, self-awareness, and professional excellence
This is not a “clock in, provide sessions, clock out” position. This is a role for a clinician who wants their work to matter.
Qualifications- Active LMHC or LPC license in North Carolina
- Master’s degree in Counseling or a related mental health field
- Experience conducting diagnostic intakes and mental health assessments
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families
- Strong clinical documentation, treatment planning, and case formulation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary pediatric setting
- Strong communication skills and a family-centered clinical presence
- Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, anxiety, mood-related concerns, trauma, and developmental differences
- Training in play therapy, CBT, trauma-informed care, attachment-based therapy , or related modalities
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Experience in pediatric, interdisciplinary, or medical-adjacent settings
- Interest in future leadership, supervision, or program development opportunities
You may be a strong fit for this role if you are:
- Clinically rigorous and diagnostically thoughtful
- Compassionate without being vague
- Able to hold both nuance and structure in your clinical work
- Energized by interdisciplinary collaboration
- Committed to helping families feel seen, supported, and empowered
- Drawn to mission-driven work that goes beyond transactional therapy
At The LEEAP Center, our hiring and leadership approach is grounded in six core values:
Integrity – You practice ethical, precise, and thoughtful clinical care.
Growth – You are committed to expanding your skill, self-awareness, and impact.
Compassion – You see the child beyond the diagnosis and honor the family journey.
Community – You collaborate generously and contribute to a strong interdisciplinary culture.
Empowerment – You equip families with clarity, tools, and confidence.
Service – You approach your work as meaningful, mission-driven service.
We are building more than a therapy center.
We are building a place where children receive coordinated, compassionate care; where families feel supported rather than overwhelmed; and where clinicians are empowered to do meaningful work inside a collaborative system designed for long-term impact.
If you are looking for a role where your clinical judgment is respected, your collaboration is valued, and your work contributes to something bigger than yourself, we would love to hear from you.
