We offer competitive market pay and opportunities for bonus depending on great work performance (bonuses only apply for Full Time).Comprehensive Employee Benefits: Full-Time employees are eligible for various plans for medical, dental, and vision insurance.POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for obtaining blood specimens from patients and for the clerical function of the laboratory including maintenance of all data processing equipment, processing and distribution of patient specimens, organization of laboratory test requests, charting of laboratory reports, and communication between nursing units and the laboratory. Assists students in the specific area for development of technical, clinical, and problem-solving. Performs additional duties as needed and or assigned.Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Work with a supervisor/manager and other members of a section or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.Responsible for procuring biological specimens using phlebotomy procedures including blood cultures and blood samples. Assists in cleaning laboratory equipment as necessary and in performing non-professional clerical duties in the department as assigned.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):High school graduate or equivalentCurrent BLS CertificationOne year experience as a hospital phlebotomistPossesses clerical and computer skills
