Job Summary Title: 2nd Engineer in Charge (E2) Department: Production SkyCam Business Unit: SkyCam Location: Fort Worth, TX Reports To: Independent Contractor or OCE Job Type: Contract Job Overview Under general supervision, the 2nd Engineer / Broadcast Engineer ensures the safe and effective deployment of the SkyCam system through sound processes, operations, and communication with the EIC, Technical Operations Manager, and Sky-NOC. The role supports on‑site EIC activities, interfaces directly with clients and venue operators, and assists with installation, maintenance, and repair of SkyCam equipment. Key Responsibilities Act as a supporting role for the on‑site EIC. Interface directly with the client, venue operator, or other crew leaders to ensure safe and proper installation. Take directions and execute plans regarding setup and operation of SkyCam equipment. Work under the direction of the EIC, NOC & Technical Operations Manager on safe deployment and maintenance of the system. Communicate all technical needs and irregular operations to the EIC, NOC and TOM. Document and deliver to Director of Operations all pictures and documentation of deployments as required. While on client job sites, responsibilities include: Equipment setup and operation. Field repairs as directed by the EIC. Safe operation of equipment (weather, equipment breakdowns, etc.). Provide clear communication to the EIC at all times. Develop a greater understanding and leadership related to SkyCam operations. Participate in all safety schedules and protocols including Pre‑Flight, NOC, and flight parameters. Participate in various meetings as required, such as staff, operational, and organizational meetings. Qualifications Minimum High school diploma required. At least one (1) year of progressively responsible experience preferably in media, broadcasting, technical, engineering, or production industry. Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook. Must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Bachelor’s degree preferred (AS or Technical School acceptable). Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to work through complex situations in a professional manner. Strong organizational and multi‑tasking skills with a strong work ethic. Skilled in the use of computers. Electrically and mechanically inclined, proficient with hand tools and electrical test equipment. Strong attention to detail.Possesses good analytical and creative skills. Strong communication skills and eagerness to collaborate with different people. Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment and open to innovative ideas. Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required. Extensive domestic and international travel; must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. passport.
