Part-Time Insurance Billing Specialist

Optimal Health and Wellness is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Insurance Billing Specialist to join our growing team. This is a part-time, in-office position for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with insurance claims, and helping ensure patients receive exceptional service behind the scenes.

Position Responsibilities

• Submit and monitor insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner
• Follow up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
• Post insurance payments and reconcile accounts
• Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and make necessary claim corrections
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and appeals
• Assist patients with billing questions and insurance inquiries
• Maintain accurate patient account documentation
• Work closely with providers and front office staff to ensure proper coding and documentation
• Identify billing trends and recommend process improvements
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Qualifications
• Previous medical insurance billing experience required
• Knowledge of ICD-IO, CPT, and HCPCS coding preferred
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the healthcare team
• Experience with claim appeals and insurance follow-up is highly preferred
