Safety ManagerAs a Safety Manager, you will ensure the safety of employees, trade partners, and the general public on our world-class projects. The Safety Manager is responsible for creating a culture of care while enforcing Clark's Safety and Health Policy, as well as local and federal safety standards on job sites. This role leads employee safety education in partnership with project supervisors to develop safe work plans for all phases and tasks. To us, no project is successful unless it is built safely.ResponsibilitiesDrive the Clark safety culture on a projectOversee and ensure the safety of employees, trade partners, and the general publicEnforce corporate and project-specific safety and health programs as well as federal, state, and local safety standardsMentor safety staff and assist in their developmentIdentify known or potential exposures and recommend corrective actionDevelop, coordinate, and implement overall project-specific safety programsPartner with field supervision to ensure safety hazard mitigation measures are included in the planning of project construction activitiesDevelop project-specific safety education for jobsite personnel, including subcontractors, based upon upcoming work activities or recent at-risk trendsDrive and create a safety vision and align the team to deliver and achieve a safe workplace for everyoneFacilitate third-party safety reviews, including OSHATeach safety-related topics within Clark beyond your job siteAssist with business plan objectives and/or other corporate initiatives, including OSHA, Red and Blue Alerts, and corporate policies and proceduresProactively identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate and win the right workTake an active role in recruiting top industry talent to join the Clark team, such as identifying, hiring, and retaining outstanding peopleExceed our stakeholders' expectations by anticipating their needs, desires, and goalsBasic Qualifications3+ years of construction safety experience and an undergraduate degree in health and safety, or 5+ years of construction safety experience and a board-certified safety credential (e.g., CHST), or 6+ years of experience and a current OSHA 500 certificationFirst Aid/CPR TrainingOSHA 30 HourMust be willing to travel in and around the Seattle/Puget Sound regionAbility to communicate and influence supervisors, peers, and external partnersProof of training and experience in managing crane, fall protection, excavation, scaffolds, and heavy equipment safelyAbility to communicate effectively with, persuade, and gain buy-in from a broad range of stakeholders, from a new craft worker to a senior executive leaderStrength in managing multiple competing priorities in a deadline-driven environmentAgile, energetic, data-driven approach to achieving individual and organizational objectives while balancing short-term and long-term goalsAlignment to Clark Standards of Excellence: self-motivated, results-oriented, adaptable, team player, accountable, ethical, innovative, resilient, builds relationships, builds people/teams and followership, sets direction and executesPreferred Qualifications40-hour EM385 TrainingBilingual, English and SpanishThe work environment and requirements described below are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.The Physical Side of the Role: This is an active, hands-on role. You can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. The work is physically demanding and requires a full range of motion, including bending, kneeling, and reaching. You'll need to be comfortable frequently lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively, as well as visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work. The role does include desk time in the office that may require prolonged periods of sitting for tasks like computer work, document review, and meetings.Your Work Environment: You'll spend a significant amount of your time on active construction sites, which means being adaptable to all kinds of weather and moderate to loud noise levels, and comfortable in elevated or confined work areas with moving mechanical equipment and with the fast-paced nature of a project in progress. You will also spend time in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels. For this role, the base salary range is $65,000 - 140,000. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
